Frequently asked questions
How do I add a destination?
Tap the + button at the top right of the main list, search for the place, and tap Save Destination. You can give it a custom label (e.g. “Mom’s”) and pick a transport mode at the same time.
Why doesn’t my widget update right away?
Widgets refresh on Apple’s schedule — about every 15 minutes by default — and whenever the app is in the foreground. The “Updated …” line on the widget shows you exactly how fresh the data is. If you’ve been moving (and have given JustETA “When In Use” location permission), the iPhone wakes the app on significant location changes and refreshes the snapshot the widget reads.
What does Pro unlock?
JustETA Pro is a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks:
- Unlimited saved destinations (the free tier saves up to 3)
- Multi-stop routes — chain 2 to 6 places with a different transport mode per leg
- Custom starting points — pin a fixed origin on a destination instead of your current location
- Lock Screen widgets (iPhone)
- Per-card refresh intervals, including Dynamic (the cadence speeds up automatically as your arrival gets closer)
- The Apple Watch & Wear OS apps — favorites, complications, and tiles
How do I restore my Pro purchase?
Open Settings → Pro → Restore Purchase.
Why does my watch show stale ETAs?
The watch app (Apple Watch or Wear OS) reads ETAs that your phone has computed — the watch never makes its own map requests, which keeps it battery-friendly and within the map providers’ rate limits. Opening the watch app asks your phone for fresh ETAs when it’s in range, and your phone pushes updates to your wrist whenever it refreshes. If the times still look stale, open the app on your phone to force a fresh sync.
How do I disable analytics?
Open Settings → Privacy → Share Anonymous Analytics. JustETA’s only analytics provider is TelemetryDeck, a privacy-friendly service that receives anonymous usage signals — never your destinations, addresses, location, or personal data. To count distinct users, each signal carries an anonymous, hashed device identifier that’s never linked to you and never used for tracking. Turn the switch off to stop sending anything.
Can I use JustETA on iPad or Mac?
JustETA runs on iPhone (with an Apple Watch companion) and Android phones (with a Wear OS companion). iPad and Mac support may come later.
Does JustETA support CarPlay?
Not in the current release. CarPlay support is planned for a future update after it is ready for App Store distribution.
What OS versions are supported?
On Apple devices, JustETA requires iOS 26 or later, and the watch app requires watchOS 26 or later. On Android, it requires Android 8 or later, and the Wear OS app requires Wear OS 3 or later.
